About Shitoryu Karatedo Queensland / Shitokai

Shitoryu Karatedo Queensland - Shitokai (SKQ) is a state-wide organisation dedicated to the preservation of the heritage and promotion of the traditions and techniques taught in the Shitoryu style of karatedo. SKQ short-term objective is to raise interest amongst karate students, parents, instructors and members of the broader community who see a value in Karatedo. Okukan is the founding member of Shitoryu Karatedo Queensland. When students join Okukan they automatically join SKQ and its parent organisations: Shitoryu Australia Shitokai and the World Shitoryu Karate Federation.

In the long run the aim of SKQ is to provide the means to:

• support dojo, state and international knowledge exchange;
• 

create opportunities for scholarships to financially support the education of Shitoryu students who are under financial stress;
• 

support the creation of Shitoryu education publications.
